Ingredients

Prices are from Publix the week of October 18, 2026. Sale prices change every week and differ by store.

Steps

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add diced onion and cook for 2 minutes until soft.
  3. Add ground turkey and cumin, breaking it apart as it cooks, until no longer pink (about 5 to 7 minutes).
  4. Add mini peppers to the skillet and cook for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender.
  5. Squeeze lime juice over the mixture and season with salt to taste.
  6. Warm tortillas and serve turkey mixture inside.

Why it’s cheap

3 of the 8 ingredients were on sale at Publix the week of October 18, 2026, led by jennie-o ground turkey at $3.50 instead of $6.99.

The sale items rang up $7.76 under their regular prices.

Penny Meals prices a dinner by the share of each package you actually cook, adds an estimated shelf price for anything that wasn’t on sale, and counts pantry staples like oil and salt as free. That came to $1.87 a serving, or $7.48 for 4 servings.
