Ingredients

Prices are from Walmart the week of October 11, 2026. Sale prices change every week and differ by store.

Steps

  1. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and add the frozen ground turkey, breaking it apart as it cooks for about 8 minutes until browned.
  2. Warm the taco shells in the oven or on a dry skillet for 1 minute per side.
  3. Dice the bell pepper into small pieces and drain and rinse the black beans.
  4. Squeeze lime juice over the turkey and season with salt and pepper.
  5. Fill warm shells with turkey, then top with black beans and diced pepper.

Why it’s cheap

4 of the 7 ingredients were on sale at Walmart the week of October 11, 2026, led by festive taco seasoned ground turkey at $0.50 instead of $1.98.

The sale items rang up $3.86 under their regular prices.

Penny Meals prices a dinner by the share of each package you actually cook, adds an estimated shelf price for anything that wasn’t on sale, and counts pantry staples like oil and salt as free. That came to $0.88 a serving, or $3.52 for 4 servings.
