Ingredients

Prices are from Publix the week of October 11, 2026. Sale prices change every week and differ by store.

Steps

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and add halved mini sweet peppers, cook 5 minutes until lightly charred, then transfer to a plate.
  2. In the same skillet, crumble ground turkey and cook 5 to 6 minutes, breaking it apart as it cooks, until browned.
  3. Add garlic powder, cumin, salt and pepper to the turkey and stir to combine.
  4. Warm tortillas in the skillet or directly over a flame for 10 to 15 seconds per side.
  5. Serve turkey in tortillas topped with roasted mini sweet peppers.

Why it’s cheap

4 of the 8 ingredients were on sale at Publix the week of October 11, 2026, led by jennie-o ground turkey at $3.50 instead of $6.99.

The sale items rang up $10.35 under their regular prices.

Penny Meals prices a dinner by the share of each package you actually cook, adds an estimated shelf price for anything that wasn’t on sale, and counts pantry staples like oil and salt as free. That came to $1.69 a serving, or $6.76 for 4 servings.
