Ingredients

Prices are from Walmart the week of October 11, 2026. Sale prices change every week and differ by store.

Steps

  1. Cook basmati rice according to package directions, about 15 minutes. Drain and fluff with butter, salt and pepper.
  2. Heat the frozen shrimp in a skillet over medium heat with a splash of water, stirring often, until warmed through, about 5 minutes.
  3. Heat the canned green beans in a small pot, drain well, and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Divide rice among bowls, top with shrimp and green beans. Squeeze fresh lemon over all if you have it.

Why it’s cheap

3 of the 7 ingredients were on sale at Walmart the week of October 11, 2026, led by frozen cooked medium shrimp at $9.97 instead of $13.36.

The sale items rang up $4.17 under their regular prices.

Penny Meals prices a dinner by the share of each package you actually cook, adds an estimated shelf price for anything that wasn’t on sale, and counts pantry staples like oil and salt as free. That came to $3.10 a serving, or $12.40 for 4 servings.
