Ingredients

Prices are from Publix the week of October 18, 2026. Sale prices change every week and differ by store.

Steps

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook pasta according to package directions.
  2. While pasta cooks, heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and add minced garlic, cooking until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  3. Add fresh spinach to the skillet and cook 2 to 3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until wilted.
  4. Drain tuna and add to the skillet with the spinach, stirring to combine.
  5. Drain cooked pasta and add it to the skillet, tossing everything together gently.
  6. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired.

Why it’s cheap

3 of the 7 ingredients were on sale at Publix the week of October 18, 2026, led by bumble bee chunk light tuna in water at $2.99 instead of $4.85.

The sale items rang up $4.59 under their regular prices.

Penny Meals prices a dinner by the share of each package you actually cook, adds an estimated shelf price for anything that wasn’t on sale, and counts pantry staples like oil and salt as free. That came to $1.30 a serving, or $5.20 for 4 servings.
