Ingredients

Prices are from Walmart the week of October 11, 2026. Sale prices change every week and differ by store.

Steps

  1. Heat the canned corn with its liquid in a large skillet over medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in the cheese sauce and simmer gently.
  2. Push the corn mixture to the sides of the skillet and add the butter to the center. Once melted, crack the eggs directly into the butter.
  3. Cook the eggs undisturbed for 3 to 4 minutes, until the whites set and the yolks are still soft. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Gently fold the corn and cheese sauce around the eggs, or leave them whole on top if you prefer.
  5. Divide among plates and sprinkle with chives if you have them.

Why it’s cheap

2 of the 6 ingredients were on sale at Walmart the week of October 11, 2026, led by daiya dairy free cheddar cheese sauce at $0.75 instead of $5.97.

The sale items rang up $5.54 under their regular prices.

Penny Meals prices a dinner by the share of each package you actually cook, adds an estimated shelf price for anything that wasn’t on sale, and counts pantry staples like oil and salt as free. That came to $0.85 a serving, or $2.55 for 3 servings.
