Ingredients

Prices are from Publix the week of October 11, 2026. Sale prices change every week and differ by store.

Steps

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Pat the ribs dry and season with salt and pepper on all sides.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large Dutch oven or heavy pot over medium-high heat. Brown the ribs in batches, about 3 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  3. Add sliced onion to the pot and cook until softened, about 3 minutes. Stir in the sauerkraut, broth, and caraway seeds if using.
  4. Cut potatoes into quarters and add to the pot with the broth and sauerkraut. Nestle the browned ribs back into the liquid.
  5. Cover and braise in the oven for 50 to 60 minutes, until the ribs are tender and potatoes are cooked through. Serve in bowls with the cooking liquid.
